Lounge Doctors
Michael Pelz-Sherman and Hal Goodtree, aka Lounge Doctors, have been writing, recording and performing together since 2012. Together, they form the nucleus of the Chatham Street Records house band, backing artists including Tea Cup Gin, Mysti Mayhem, Leroy Klavis, Adam Decker and others.
Dr. Mike (PhD Music, University of California) is a child of jazz, but a cousin to soul and funk. He’s played keyboard, organ and piano for the North Carolina Jazz Ensemble, the North Carolina Ballet and bands including Heavy Weather, Tempis Fugit and A Fifth of Blues.
Dr. Hal (not a doctor at all) is a two-time Emmy® winning producer and filmmaker. Hal plays bass, guitar and sings. His first paying musical gig was at the age of 15. A child of the folk-rock era, Hal is equally at home with The Byrds, Howlin Wolf, James Brown or Danger Mouse.
Lounge Doctors’ first LP on Chatham Street Records is “Notes From The Suburbs.”

Leroy Klavis
Is he a soul singer? A crooner? A power rocker? Leroy Klavis is all those things and more.
From his beginnings as a sax player in a Tower of Power cover band to his long journey through the music of Frank Zappa, John Coltrane and John Prine, Leroy’s through-line has been “sing from the heart.”
“Fire” is the first release by Leroy Klavis on Chatham Street Records.
